Airbus A321
SAS investering
SAS is considering the purchase of new aircraft. Long-range aircraft cost $4 million each, medium-range $2 million and short-range $1 million each, and SAS has $60 million to invest.
The estimated profit from each type of aircraft is $0.4 million, $0.3 million, and $0.15 million, respectively.
SAS has trained pilots for at most a total of 25 additional aircraft. Maintenance facilities are limited to a maximum of the equivalent of 30 additional short-range aircraft. Long-range aircraft need twice as much maintenance as short-range ones, and medium-range 1.5 times as much.
Set this up in Excel, and find how many long-range, medium-range, and short-range aircraft should be bought in order to maximize profit.
