Multiscale Problems and Asymptotic Analysis

June 22 - 26, 2004

Narvik University College, Norway

Satellite conference of the FOURTH EUROPEAN CONGRESS OF MATHEMATICS (4ECM)

This conference is organized in the framework of the European Research Training Network Homogenization and Multiple Scales (HMS2000). This is the final meeting of the project.

Sponsors:
  • European Research Training Network "Homogenization and Multiple Scales"
  • Narvik University College
  • Nordland Fylke
  •

    Conference overview

The idea of this Conference is to bring together people working on both theoretical and computational aspects of modern multiscale and other asymptotic problems in the fields of differential equations, variational functionals, mechanics of porous media and composite materials. Among these problems are homogenization of reticulated and singular structures, asymptotically high contrast models, reiterated structures, stochastic homogenization, sharp estimates of effective moduli, optimal design problems.

The scientific program will include 40 minutes lectures followed by 5 minutes discussions and
20 minutes presentations followed by 5 minutes discussions.

    The Conference language is English.
