Journalist Andrew Mwenda from Uganda speaks at the 2007 TED conference urging us to look beyond the media's stories of poverty, civil war and helplessness and see the opportunities for creating wealth and happiness throughout the continent. Most important, he says, the solution to Africa's problmes is NOT more aid.

MPCT students are invited for a free screening of the Japanese silent film "Special Express: 300 miles" which will be musically accompanied by Gunter buchwald.

Krig and Film-

Learn how film influences our views of war and violence.  At the Kulturhuset in Tromsø.  Lecture in Norwegian. 

This is a joint seminar/conference of the Africanist Network in Norway (ANN) with the Center for Peace Studies (CPS), University of Tromsø.

To add a new event that will appear on the calendar, click on the "Add Content" link on the left sidebar.

Then choose add event. Enter the dates and time of the event, the name of the event, and any information or files that should be seen with the event.

Finally, click submit. Your event will appear on the calendar which is visible on the right sidebar on the main page.

To create a new forum topic where people can engage in a type of online dialogue, click on "Add Content" on the left side bar.

Then choose add forum topic. Type in the name of your forum, choose "My Forum" from the drop down menu, and type your message/post. Post the forum by clicking submit.

There are two ways to add a link to a wiki entry.

1. Select the text that you want to function as the link, click on the chain icon above the text box, type in the URL.
2. Place double brackets without spaces, [ [  ] ], around your text and it will link it to the page on this wiki.

1. Click on the "Add Content" link on the left side of the page.
2. Choose the type of content you want to add, such as an event or a wiki page. If you are not sure, choose the wiki page.
3. Enter your content, select a category for it in the drop down menu, and click submit! (as seen in the screen shot below)
