Welcome!
Geographical Position Service (GeoPos) was a project carried out by the former NTNU MSc students Bjørn Næss, Tommy Rafos and Jan Morten Henriksen, in cooperation with Professor Steinar Hidle Andresen, at the Department of Telematics, NTNU, autumn 2004. The main goal of the project was to develop a Geographical Positioning Service for lab purposes at the Department of Telematics at NTNU, based on earlier studies of the subject. The project was further developed by Håvard Holje and Zia R. Sarshar as a part of the Wireless Trondheim project during the summer of 2006. The GeoPos Web Service offers an easy and secure interface to the Cisco Location Appliance, which is able to position user terminals in a huge WiFi (In this case over 5000 square meters in Trondheim centre).

The GeoPos core system is build on Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition (J2EE) and it runs on a JBoss 4.0.0 application server
