One day Trip to Bud and Håholmen

Weather is getting good and summer is approaching so this is the time to have a small excursion. So ESN is planning to have a one day trip to the historical old German fort at Bud and an exotic small island in Atlantic Ocean on Saturday 6th May 2006.

Program

9:30 Departure from Bus Station in exclusive Bus (The director of the museum has very kindly agreed to give us firsthand information about Molde and its culture during the whole trip).
11:00 Arrival at Boat harbor
11:20 We will take a real old Viking Ship to go to Håholmen island. This island is considered to be the present day Viking Island with preserved real Viking culture and food. (www.haholmen.no)
There will be a guided tour of the island along with the documentary film and presentation regarding Viking culture and ship building.

13:00 Departure to German Fort in Bud

On our way to Bud we will be stopping at couple of places on Atlantic road and will experience the Atlantic Ocean in real.

Bud has a historic German fort from Second World War situated right on the bank of Atlantic Ocean. Here we will be having a guided tour of the forte including the tunnels, bunkers, old war prison etc. This fort still have the old cannons and search lights.

16:30 Arrival back at Molde

This is the great opportunity for all of us to explore the real nature and culture of Molde and suburbs. ESN Molde has made special arrangements with Molde museum and Håholmen to make this trip memorable.

Normally this trip will cost around NOK 1000 per person. However ESN Molde will cover 90% of the total expenditure. Each participant has to pay NOK 100.

ESN will be providing light refreshment during the trip. You are advised to bring your own food or you can buy expensive traditional Viking food at Hoholmen.

PS: Interested participants should register and pay NOK 100 by Thursday 4th May 2006. The number of available seats is limited. Registration will be on first come, first serve bases
