Danish-Norwegian symposium in Operator Algebras, Lysebu 15 – 18 December 2007

The Danish and Norwegian operator algebraists will arrange their bi-annual conference December 15-18 at Lysebu above Oslo, This time around we decided to break the routine of restricting the meeting to mostly Danes and Norwegians  because of Erling Størmer«s 70th year birthday 2 Nov 2007. Thus, we invite some of Erling«s close collaborators.  As usual one arrives for lunch at 12:30 – 14:00 Saturday December 15 and leaves after breakfast  at 07:00 - 09:00 Tuesday December 18. There will be a conference banquet in the evening Monday December 17.

For transatlantic or trans-siberian guests it will probably be convenient to arrive already 14 December, and they should contact Christian Skau at csk@math.ntnu.no

Chris Skau  is administering the conference and it is best to communicate with him about other details on times and dates, accompanying family members, special needs, prolonged stays etc. Because of limited space at Lysebu, participation is in general by invitation only.

At the time of the symposium one may expect temperatures slightly below zero (centigrades!) and some snow or sleet may occur. We give a link to continually updated local weather forecasts for Lysebu the nearest 48 hours and the nearest 8 days. The sun will rise around 9:14 and set around 15:11 each day. If weather and snow permits, there are good possibilities for skiing outside Lysebu.

This Symposium has received substantial financial support from The Fund for Danish-Norwegian Cooperation.

Here is the time schedule of the symposium.
