I currently work as a Professor in the Scientific Computing Department at the Simula Research Laboratory, being on a five-year 80% leave from my position as Professor of Scientific Software at the Department of Informatics, University of Oslo (where I do the normal teaching and supervision). I also work part-time at the Physics of Geological Processes Center of Excellence at the University of Oslo. I have been working part time in Numerical Objects, the Department of Scientific Computing, Uppsala University, and SINTEF Applied Mathematics. Before taking up the position at the Department of Informatics in 1999, I worked (from 1991) as an Associate Professor and later as a full Professor of Mechanics at the Department of Mathematics, University of Oslo.
