Tropospheric Chemistry Forecasts

The regional 3D NILU-CTM (Chemistry Transport Model) is driven by meteorological data from a NWP (Numerical Weather Prediction) model using global meteorological analyses and forecast from ECMWF (European Centre for Medium Range Weather Forecasts) as initial and boundary conditions.
The NILU-CTM is self-nesting and is here employed on two grids using the coarse grid chemistry results as boundary conditions for the fine scale model.
Select model domain with resolution 150 km & 10 layers, 50 km & 18 layers or 15 km & 30 layers to view model results:

Coarse scale model, 150 km & 10 layers Nested fine scale model, 50 km & 18 layers Nested fine scale model, 15 km & 30 layers

Only 150km resolution grid is updated daily.
Last forecast available on 50km and 15km grids was made October 7, 2003.
