Espen Dahl has a Ph.D in sociology from 1994. He is a professor and the head of the interdisciplinary research programme Care, Health and
Welfare at Oslo University College. Part of his research is undertaken at Research Group for Inclusive Welfare Policies. His research interests are health and welfare policies in comparative perspective, active labour market policies, research on social assistance dynamics and social exclusion, and health inequality research. He has published extensively on these topics.
