Note that you need a bank account with a credit/debit card to be able to perform the transaction.
Before you can start using your student card to pay for photocopies and printouts the money chip of the card must be charged from your credit card at a cashpoint (bankautomat). This is done in the following way:
- Insert your student card with the chip upwards and towards the machine. Insert the card fully and wait until you hear a beep and see a green light in the card reader.
- Choose the preferred sum and press GODKJENN to accept the transaction.
- If you want a receipt press JA (yes).
- Draw your credit card.
- Key in your code (the code of your credit card) and press KLAR.
- Wait for GODKJENT (accepted). Do not remove the card.
- Wait for the receipt tone.
- The display says NY SALDO, TA KORTET (new balance, remove the card).
- Now remove the card.
Note
If you remove the card before you see TA KORTET on the display, the card will not function and must be reinserted for automatic updating of balance (NY SALDO) before it can be used.
The maximum cash amount in your student card is NOK 500.
The card must be treated as if it were a credit card.
Do not keep the card close to your mobile phone.
The money that is transferred from your bank account is stored in the chip of your student card.
