The project studies design of digital narratives crossing media platforms – from personal media to archives.

Digital media makes it possible to use research material (photos and video) to communicate the object, and by that mediating the process of creating cultural-historical knowledge instead of only the product. Traditionally cultural historical knowledge is mediated by presenting the object by cronology and definition of the object. Digital material makes it possible to mediate how it was found and how it was analysed and reconstructed and by this communicate cultural historical knowledge as based on interpretations and translations.

Special focus is put on analysing different narrative models for designing interactive stories based on the focuss on mediating cultural historical research as systematic and analytical, as well as chaotic and base don negotiations. The project also studies how webbased content can be accesses by users of mobile media and how the exhibited object can be interpreted interactively.

Casestudies; The Reconstruction of the third Gokstadboat, Open Archeology at Museum of Cultural History University of Oslo, and a participatory project with multicultural youth on documentation of cultural heritage with personal media.
