About NHH and The history
of NHH.
Through its solid academic traditions and long-standing educational and research contacts with institutions abroad, the School has been able to secure its central position in maintaining and building contacts between Norwegian and foreign research communities in the fields of economics and business administration. One clear indication of the School's international status is its affiliation with the highly prestigious Community of European Management Schools (CEMS) and with the global network Programme in International Management (PIM).
The responsibilities of the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration are: teaching and research in the fields of economics, management and business administration and related subjects. Furthermore, the School focuses on disseminating research methods and results to a wide range of interested parties. The academic resources are grouped into the following departments:
The School serves as the focal point of a network of Norwegian educational institutions in the fields of economics, management and business administration. Its central role vis-à-vis the regional colleges located throughout the country is indicated by its status as the sole institution in the country offering study programmes ranging from introductory level to doctoral work in business administration, management sciences and economics.
With the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration as a nucleus
and point of departure, two affiliated foundations have been established to
fulfil particular functions: the Administrative
Research Institute (AFF) and the Foundation
for Research in Economics and Business Administration (SNF).
Since its foundation in 1936, NHH has seen many of its graduates fill leading positions in business and public life. Each year a large number of national (e.g. Norsk Hydro, Statoil, Kværner Oil & Gas) and international companies (e.g. L'Oreal, Arthur Andersen, McKinsey, Boston Consulting Group, Goldman Sachs, Procter & Gamble, Cap Gemini...) give presentations for recruiting purposes. We believe that NHH will provide an exciting and active student environment that will make your stay very rewarding, both academically, socially and culturally.
