About studies at NHH

Where is NHH?

The School is situated on a low hill 5 minutes north of the centre of Bergen, with a magnificent view of the fjord and the seaway entrance to Bergen. Its location also provides great opportunities for hiking. The mountains are practically right on your doorstep and there are well-marked footpaths. This is a unique opportunity to enjoy nature, relax and renew your strength. In summer you can go swimming in the sea or in the lakes which are also just a few minutes from the NHH campus.

Bergen: the rainbow city

As a student at NHH you'll get to know one of the most distinctive cities of Norway. A city known for traditions, patriotism - and rain. Bergen is Norway's second largest city, beautifully located between seven mountains. It's the gateway to the fjords - the fjords' "capital city". Not without reason has Bergen become one of Europe's busiest cruiseship ports and has been selected as the European City of culture for the year 2000.

The 20,000 students at NHH and the University of Bergen certainly influence the city's nightlife. The students have their own gathering places and organise a variety of activities throughout the year. As a student in Bergen you are in for a great experience.

Norway: the land of the fjords

Norway is a small country with its 150,000 square miles and its small population of about 4.2 million people. It's also a country of contrasts: its 13,000 miles long coastline presents dramatic fjord and islets landscapes, while Eastern Norway features luxuriant and fertile agricultural areas. It affords a unique quality of life, which allows challenging work in a modern high technology environment and superb opportunities for physical and mental recreation along the coast and in the mountains. A stay in Norway will surely be an experience you'll never forget!
