The Norwegian participants gather their strength
(October 07) Aker Kværner, SINTEF and NTNU entered into a co-operation agreement to develop more effective and environmentally-friendly chemicals for CO2 capture.
This has the potential to result in a significant reduction in global emissions as well as contributing to the development of Norwegian technology.
Thanks to the strategic and long-sighted funding of research by the Research Council and Gassnova, plus participation in numerous industrial- and EU projects, SINTEF and NTNU have built up a unique expertise base in this field. More information.
EnergiCampus Nord financed
(August 07) The Minister of Education and Research Øystein Djupedal has allocated 3 MNOK to "EnergiCampus Nord" in Hammerfest. In addition, Finnmark County Authority
has allocated 0,5 MNOK.
The EnergiCampus Nord is a network of educational
institutions, aiming to increase the
competence within energy and environment
in the northern areas. The network is
connected to Snøhvit, and natural gas
technology is a key issue. An important goal
of the project is positive energy-related
spin-off effects in the region, and
Hammerfest council is involved.
Professor Arne M. Bredesen is leading a
working group consisting of members
from all the institutions that cooperate
on this team; the universities of Tromsø
and Stavanger, the University colleges in
Finnmark, Tromsø and Narvik, and NTNU.
More information from Finnmark County Authority.
