GeoMod

The GeoMod geometric modeller specializes in simulation and control of complex moving mechanisms.

Access

The modeller runs on several computers, and the procedure used to gain access to the program differs with the kind of computer used and the purpose of the usage.  The links below lead to detailed descriptions.

The NTNU computer network

The modeller is used for educational purposes at NTNU. The software is installed on one server, and students run the modeller over the computer network.  Instructions for how to get started are given in the internet page GeoMod: Network access  .

There is a more comprehensive description of the software system called A framework for exercises in computer science .

Course TMM4130

The modeller is used in the NTNU course TMM4130, "Produktutvikling og IT".  A description of the course and a lecture plan, all in Norwegian, is found under the homepage for the Dept. of Engineering Design and Materials Science.  An additional copy is given here for convenience:  TMM4130 .

The course material includes guidance for a project on a visualization and control software system for an excavator. The text is in Norwegian.
