The purpose of this project is to review input validation frameworks for Java applications. We will start by identifying common threats caused by lack of input validation and some basic validation strategies. Then we will look at four open source input validation frameworks. Our goal is to find out what todays validation framework has to offer and how these validation frameworks can improve how developers implement validation to ensure data integrity.
Does the frameworks offer means to protect against threats caused by bad input, or are they just tools to help developers apply their validation methods in more structured way? And are they suited for novice developers? These are questions we will look into.
