To all students that partcipated on the course Space Technology I - dep. of Physics, autumn 2007 : You now have the chance to sign up for Space Technology II - a follow up -course that will take place at Andøya, one week duration in early June. Those of us who has participated here earlier strongly recommend you to grab this opportunity as you have it. Experiences like these don’t come up too often, and believe us - it is well worth the time! You will get your hands on some semi-powerful rocketry, excellent lectures and a scenic and beautiful taste of Andøya. Bathing in the northern sea followed by a hot sauna will clear any rocket scientist’s mind and help on the evaluation of the post-flight data. Sign up!

Work on Telemetry is continuous down at Omega verksted these days. Telemetry Supervisor Espen can confirm that the electronics and programming are under control, the rocket will be playing some music as it goes up in the air, and the sensor equipment being of very high standards will make sure the rocket trajectory profile will come out very precise after recovery and integration. More detailed dokumentation on Telemetry and electronics will soon be available on our pages, as well as of the mechanical parts etc. Thursday at 18:00 hours, there will be a demonstration down at Omega V. We recommend you to pay a visit and can promise some real action in the workshop.

On Wednesday, Technical Manager, Tale, had the pleasure of joining the leader of Pyrogruppen Eksplosiv, Lars Kristian Schjønhaug, in the Studentradion studio at Samfundet for an informal interview on fireworks and rockets. During a hot talk on air, the Pyrogruppen Ekplosiv and NTNU Space and Rocketry got to discuss each others enthusiasm on things going up into the air. Allthough the diffrences between sounding rockets and fireworks are significant, we think of it as very positive to have established contact with this skilled pyrotechnical organisation. We are looking forward to joining them on their pyrotechnical show on feburary 16th! See http://www.eksplosiv.ntnu.no/ to read up and see some pictures and videos on their colorful activites.

Yesterday we had a successful warming up work shop with construction of different types of model rockets. If the weather allows it we will have launch on saturday the 10th or sunday 11th of November. NTNU Space and Rocketry are now looking further up and ahead and are planning the construction of a larger-scale sounding rocket with telemetry-system implementation. You don’t want to miss this so stay put and visit regularly to keep up to date. You can see some of the pictures from the warming up work shop at http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=66849&l=7f5db&id=624510787
