Tirsdag 6. mars kl. 19.00 i Halvors Hybel!
So. You want to work for a living planet?
You're young and you've got a brain.
Added to this, you've got a passion for the planet.
All you need is the opportunity. The World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) is running a new, global volunteer programme for young people. Mari Roald Bern graduated from the University of Life Sciences in 2005, and got the opportunity to work on Madagascar through this programme. In Halvors World on March the 6th she will talk about the work done in the forest ecoregion “Ala Antisanana”. Here, the WWF works with communal natural resource management. The forests in this region are disappearing due to extensive use of slash-and-burn agriculture. How the WWF -the global conservation organisation- approaches mainly socio-economic development in order to save lemurs and other flagship species will be presented.
Pictures and personal experiences from village life in Ambalamanenjana and Ankarimbelo will be shown.
