General college entrance requirements with additional qualifications in Physics (2FY-2yr) and Mathematics (3MX-3yr)
- To provide a good theoretical and practical education for students who plan to work as telematics engineers or continue their studies at graduate level
- To develop ability to collaborate and communicate with colleagues as well as people who are not telematics spesialists. On completion of the programme it is expected that students will be able to work with personell from other subject areas, including spesialists from other fields.
- To develop relavant understanding of etical considerations in relation to telematics, and stimulate reflection on developement and application.
- To be able to meet the need for maintenance and user service, by emphasizing telematics systems in the study program.
Lectures, labs and practical projects, with and without supervision.
Methodology and project oriented approach are particularly emphasized in this programme. Many of the subjects also require completion of individual and group projects.
The faculty makes extensive use of lab work, Internet and web technology in creating an active and challenging learning environment for the students.
Each year of study is divided into two semesters, with the following main structure:
Year 1:
Basic courses, mathematics, electronics and basic computer science courses - programming languages, object oriented programming.
Year 2:
Mathematics and physics. Electonics and instrumentations. Computer systems and computer network. Multimedia and signal processing.
Year 3:
Telematics and mobile radio systems. Data bases and multimedia on Internett. The specialisation is culminating in the completion of a main project, including a small thesis.
