Over 100 billion NOK are invested in building and construction work each year. This fact has led to a decrease in the availability of civil engineers.
New needs and environmental regulations require flexible solutions and a better selection of building materials. This applies to new building projects as well as to improving and renovating existing buildings. It is the college¢s goal to develop knowledge in these areas and to supply the region with well-qualified civil engineers.

Regional business life is mainly based on commerce related to the ocean and has special needs for new constructions, maintenance and rehabilitating constructions in the maritime milieu. This study will give students the knowledge and skills necessary for solving these kinds of construction tasks.
