LANGUAGE OF INSTRUCTION: Norwegian
DEGREE: The program qualifies the students for teaching all subjects included in primary school and lower secondary school.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS: A degree from upper secondary school, or a degree of equal standard, containing the grade 3 (or better) in Norwegian language and mathematics, and a total of at least 35 school points according to the Norwegian standard of school points.
COURSE CONTENT: Educational, didactical, methodical and practical training for students who want to qualify for teaching all subjects included in primary school and lower secondary school. The Teacher Training student must study the offered elementary courses in the following topics; Norwegian, Mathematics, Pedagogical Theory, Religion and GLSM (Fundamental reading, writing and mathematics education). Furthermore there are 120 ECTS Credits which should be chosen by the student among the relevant topics offered by the institution.
All courses are founded on theory, didactics and methods of teaching relevant for the topic, and there will be a total amount of 20 weeks of practice in the Norwegian school system. The students will do their practice during the three first years of the program.
The course involves varied methods of teaching, including lectures, seminars and teaching in small groups. The students also work with projects, written and oral assignments, presentations and portfolios.
ASSESSMENT: Different solutions and priorities from topic to topic, but individual written and oral exam and portfolio assessment are included in the course, as well as both written and oral exams related to groups of students.
