Prior learning (SA 533, SA 534 og SA 536) or work experience
Students will get to know history as a general subject, before concentrating on the special features of local history. These include working methods, the building and developing of local history archives, as well as getting to know the most typical sources used in the study of local history. Giving students practical training in the working methods of local history is an important part of the study. Then there will be a part of historical topics based on the subject ressources, humans and technology.
The students should also write an independent paper based on a clearly defined research question. This reserch is going to be based on primary and secondary sources. Through this work it is a goal to help students to develop an ability to think analytically about the past and to express their thoughts and ideas .
