Prerequisites

It is required that students have been active users of software in one or several subjects over at least one semester.

Contents

The subject comprises few themes but these are relatively thoroughly treated. Great emphasis is put on the communicative part and practical exercises in using the intranet and the Internet. Problem solving will to a great extent revolve around the building of spreadsheet models and programming. Relevant parts from the Personal Data Act (“Lov om person-register”) etc will be dealt with. Ethical problems in connection with information processing are based on debates about the abuse of the Internet and databases in the mass media.

Teaching Methods

Course Requirements

Three tasks are compulsory. Two of them have to be carried out individually and one as group work.
