The course is based on IN620 Operating Systems and Communication
The course will give the students knowledge of advanced operating systems concepts, computer networks, designing and maintenance of networks, installation of software and hardware components. The students will also learn about network topologies, network operating systems, routers, routing protocols, access lists and security on Internet. The course will have a thorough presentation of Linux (Skolelinux in particular), Windows 2003 and Active Directory. T
Lectures, group work . The students will be divided into groups. Each group will have the responsibility of installing, configuring and maintaining their own server.
Six-hour written examination.
