The Northern Fennoscandian Stone Age

Comparative gatherer-hunter-fisher archaeology in the northern and southern temperate and subarctic areas, with emphasis on social and economic relations.

Analytical methods with emphasis on computer-based quantitative methods,including multivariate statistics, spatial analysis on both local and regional scales, and geographical information systems (GIS).

Meat and bone utility indeces for Beaver in prehistory (with CADIC, Ushuaia, Tierra del Fuego, Argentina)

Remote sensing and long-term cultural resource management (with Dept. of Botany, UiTø)

Hunter-gatherers' general development patterns from the last ice-age to the introduction of agriculture (8500-3000 BP) in the northern temperate area of selected regions (Southern Scandinavia, Japan and the American mid-west).

Development and testing of analytical methods.

Development of models for social and economic strategies (micro and macro scale) in the prehistory and history of the north Atlantic region (with NABO Models Working Group).
