18.11.2002
Foredragsholdere
Carsten Griwodz
Abstact:
Behind the scenes of volatile commerical interests in Video-on-Demand, Music-on-Demand and other kinds of media-on-demand, research and development results have developed new techniques for efficient content delivery. Some of these techniques use television-like schedules for broadcasting content, while others are true on-demand approaches. Some techniques are available for sale, while the advantages of others are so theoretical and obscure that their deployment is hardly likely. An introduction to the techniques, their benefits and their problems, and some solutions are given. Finally, their relationship to new interactive media formats is discussed.
