Abstract:
Cornell Single Sign-on (CorSSO) is a distributed service for authentication in networks. It allows application servers to delegate client identity-checking to combinations of authentication servers. These servers can use diverse means and reside in different administrative domains, implementing a form of distributed trust whereby the ensemble is more trusted than any of its elements. A novel parititoning of work associated with authenticating principals enables CorSSO to scale well with increases in the numbers of users and services.
