The mechanics of paper submission and review

24.03.2004

Foredragsholdere
Fred B. Schneider

Tid: Onsdag 13:15 til 14:00
StedLille Auditorium (B203) Realfagsbygget

Title: The mechanics of paper submission and review.

Speaker: Fred B. Schneider, Cornell University and Department of Computer Science, UiTø.

Abstract:
Lots must happen between the birth of an idea and its publication in a conference proceedings or professional journal. This talk will survey the least intellectually exciting steps of that process:

  • How to choose a journal for the submission.

  • Exactly what the editor or program committee chair does after the paper is received.

  • How to write a referee report that is helpful for the editor and author.

Hints on writing papers emerge from knowledge of these mechanics, and these hints will be discussed.

Eventuelle spørsmål i tilknytting til Schneiders forelesning kan rettes til professor Dag Johansen, tlf 7764 4047.

Vel møtt!
