23.05.2006

Foredragsholdere
Johan Gustav Bellika

Tid: Tirsdag 23. mai 2006, kl 12:15 - 13:00
Sted: Lille auditorium, Realfagsbygget, UiTø

Tittel: " Disease surveillance system "
Foredragsholder: Doktorgradstudent Johan Gustav Bellika, Nasjonalt senter for Telemedisin

Abstract:
Throughout the human history pandemic outbreaks of deadly diseases have struck our societies very hard, killing large percentages of the population.
Until recently, we have had few means of limiting or stopping the outbreaks.

However, distributed computer systems and computer science already plays an essential role in our society's preparedness and ability to respond to both local outbreaks of contagious diseases and global pandemic outbreaks of diseases as avian influenza. The presentation will present current disease surveillance systems and how we believe the future version of these systems will be organised.
