Client Side Interceptor Mechanism for Mini EJB Container
07.04.2004
Abstract
This project is a part of the Artic Beans project at the University of Tromsø. The Artic Beans project is about software components and their supporting environment.
A software component executes inside a capsule on the server, a runtime environment that provides support for number of services such as security and transactions.
The people behind the Artic Beans project believe that a platform like this should exist for all components, including the client side components.
This project describes the design and implementation of a client side interception mechanism that offers a way to intercept and change external method calls. This mechanism can be used for many interesting things such as security, compression and logging. The project will present examples of usage of the mechanism.
This mechanism runs on a handheld computer using a mini ETB container developed by Anders Åberg. This mini container runs with a J2ME virtual machine.
