Abstract
Software engineering is a difficult task. It includes design and implementation of complex software, and the use of advanced development platforms. Fur-thermore, the only way to find out if software is functioning correctly is by testing it.

Testing software is supported by most current development platforms. It is especially important to have support for unit testing. This is the smallest soft-ware tests written. They test only a small fraction of business code at the time, such as methods/functions or classes/structures. This type of tests is written during the process of developing the business code. When there is something to test, unit tests are written to confirm the correctness of this code. These tests are run continuously throughout the development process to make sure all code works. This is one of the most important testing strate-gies in the process of developing software.

Unit testing is not integrated into BEA Workshop and therefore not feasible in this tool. We describe the design and implementation of a plug-in to make it possible to do unit testing in this development tool. Both generating and run-ning the tests are supported in this new functionality.
