Teaching and examination in the subject has been arranged for English speaking students.
The Aim of the subject is to provide an introduction to the legal issues which buyer and seller need to take into consideration every time they enter into contract over an international sale of goods. The subject examines how laws, treaties and other legal institutions have developed to solve specific predicaments associated with international purchases and sales, and what buyer and seller can do to manage the risks involved in the transaction.
The course Syllabus will be selected by the teacher responsible for the special subject. This list of literature also contains several links to information on International Sales Law on the Internet and can therefore be used as a point of departure for studies in the details of the subject.
Teaching in the form of lectures and seminars will be given provided that at least three students register for the course. The lectures, which are based on Power Point-technology, are made available in the web-class for this course, gradually after each day's lectures.
Login to the web-class can be done with the username and password that you received at registration. You can change your password here. Within the web-class students have access to additional study material. Students can also print out handouts to students and case studies.
Viewing the Power Point presentations presupposes that you have Power Point-program installed on your PC. Alternatively you can download and install appropriate version of the Power Point Viewer (freeware). The presentations contain several links to www-sites, where from you can get back to the presentation by clicking the back-button on you web-browser. Some of the links are to pdf-files and presuppose that you have installed the Adobe Acrobat Reader-program on your PC.
The Exam consists of a written and an oral part. The written part will be given as a home exam over five workdays. On condition that this exam is passed, an oral exam will be held. The exam is held at the end of May.
