Organic chemistry

Contents Introductory organic chemistry. Overview of the most important functional groups, their characteristic properties, methods of preparation and reactions. Stereochemistry, reaction mechanisms and nomenclature.

Form of teaching Lectures: 40 hrs Seminars: 30 hrs

Compulsory teaching Diagnostics tests

Assessment To give the student a feedback on his/hers progress 4 diagnostic tests of 2 h will be given during the term. Entrance to the final exam requires a pass of at least 3 diagnostic tests. The course is evaluated through a written exam of 5h. Lettergrades (A-F).

Examination semester Spring

Date(s) of written examination 23.09.2004 The exam date is preliminary and may be subject to change. Definitive exam date will be announced on the notice boards at the faculties in the beginning of May for the spring semester and in the beginning of November for the autumn semester.
