Motivations for applying to the MIS program:

International, national and localised development actions cannot take off justifiably without an all inclusive development approach for minority or indigenous populaces of the globe. The quest to be an advocate, formulator and implementer of pro-indigenous development policies, programmes and actions shaped my desire to sharpen my knowledge and future in the field of Indigenous Studies. The multi-disciplinary approach of the programme and later the profession, taking into cognisance legal, anthropological, historical, development and humanistic issues   makes studying and venturing into this field a well calculated and celebrated pleasure. My unquenchable appetite to be an active participant in practical and progressive development initiatives at micro and macro  strategic levels is best suited by the social science discipline in Indigenous Studies. My previous experience working for the United Nations (in UNIFEM) consolidated my  conviction that I can positively contribute to critical development issues any areas like indigenous peoples rights and empowerment.
