Dr. Pierre Perrin served until recently as the Chief Medical Officer at the ICRC headquarters in Geneva. He developed the world-renowned H.E.L.P courses (Health Emergencies in Large Populations) which for the last 20 years have prepared health delegates of the Red Cross-Red Crescent Movement, of WHO and of other aid agencies for the challenges in complex medical and humanitarian situations, as for instance wars, earthquakes, famine, and persecution.

He is author of the ICRC Handbook on War and Public Health.

Perrin visits Tromsø in connection to SIH’s elective module “Peace, Health and Medical Work 2007”, and will give a presentation to the UNN-employees on Human Security in Complex Emergencies.

Time: Wednesday, March 7th, from 08:00 to 09:00

Place: UNN Auditorium, A5, room A2 531
