Welcome to AID!

No question is too big and no question is too small! The Advice and Information Division (AID) can assist with study-related questions, such as which courses you can combine, fit in from previous education or add to a degree. Our advice takes the full picture into account and we follow students throughout their education, from commencement to completion.

Front line service
AID is a front line service for students who have questions they are unable to find answers to. Students at the University of Tromsø have the offer of receiving advice, information and follow up on academic, administrative and matters of a more personal nature. It’s not always easy to find out who can help with what. AID does not actually provide academic advice, but we can help students to navigate the system. Such advice is extremely important for new students who are unfamiliar with the university system, but students who have been here a while can also find our advice useful.

Integration and periods of study abroad
Programmes of study offer the opportunity to study abroad. AID can provide information about periods of study abroad for students wishing to travel. Our office also has a responsibility to provide advice and information for overseas students who come here to work and study. AID also advises and informs international students about the Norwegian system.

Point of contact for students
AID also receives feedback from students about the learning environment and conveys these to the Leaning Environment Committee (LEC).
