Biographical facts

Born 1956. Cand. polit. degree in 1989 at the Institute of Social Science, University of Tromsø. Researcher at the Norwegian Institute for Urban and Regional Research, Oslo 1990-92. Researcher at NORUT Social Science Research, Tromsø 1992-93. Research Fellow at the Department of Political Science, University of Tromsø 1994-97. Associate Professor from 1998.

• Political theory, including main currents and basic questions in today's debate on democracy as well as the history of political ideas.
  
• The theory of (social) science.
  
• Public policy, especially problems concerning local government.

• Problems relating to the theory of communicative action.
  
• Democracy and Indigenous Rights.
