FRA-2221: French Cultural Knowledge II Work Load
10 credits (ECTS) | Objectives
This subject will result in a broadening and deepening of the knowledge earlier acquired by the students. Greater emphasis is placed on theoretical insight and practical linguistic proficiencies than was the case when the subject was studied at a lower level. | Contents
Course type: Compulsory for the 90-group in French. Students must select two subjects of this type. They need not necessarily be chosen from different disciplines.
This subject will offer a deeper knowledge of a particular theme within civilization; the content will vary according to who is leading the course. Examples include a region, a historical period, social and cultural areas, Francophone issues.

This subject is offered in the Spring semester. Lectures, seminars, oral contributions.
Language of instruction: French.
| Assessment
A semester assignment of a maximum 15 pages in length on a self-selected topic. The chosen approach to the topic must be approved by the academic supervisor five weeks after the start of the semester, at the latest. An oral presentation in French of the work on the assignment halfway through the semester (work requirement), to be submitted at the end of the semester.
The assignment must be answered in French.
Performance in the course will be assessed with the grades A-F.
A resit exam will be held as soon as possible after the ordinary exam and normally no later than September 15 for courses offered in the spring semester and February 15 for courses offered in the autumn semester.
