LAT-1010: Introductory Course Work Load
10 credits (ECTS) | Objectives
Recommended previous knowledge: no previous knowledge is expected in order to take this course, but it will be advantageous if the student has taken EXF-0720 with the academic subject of language knowledge. Good reading skills in English will also be an advantage. During the course, students will acquire an overview of the grammar and basic vocabulary of Classical Latin. | Contents
Introduction to Latin.
This course requires University admission certification.
No previous qualifications are required for this course, but a good knowledge of general grammar is an advantage. Since some of the literature may be in English, good reading skills in English are also an advantage. | Form of teaching
Teaching consists of 52 hours distributed over 4 sections, each of 3 weeks, with 2 weeks of no teaching between the sections.
Teaching consists of a discussion of grammar and vocabulary. Students are expected to be prepared and participate actively in the teaching, and to use the periods of no teaching for individual study. Obligatory assignments will be given for each lecture. | Assessment
At least 70 % of the written assignments must be completed.
There will be a 6-hour school exam at the end of the semester.
Performance will be assessed with the grades A-F. | Examination semester
