PSY-2580: Health and community psychology Work Load

Introduce students to health psychology and community psychology
| Contents
Students and professors will take part in giving lectures for this course. The student lectures are called "mini-lectures". These student lectures are obligatory. The students will pick their topic at the orientation meeting at the beginning of the course. Students will work in groups of three. Every student group will compose two exam questions on the topic that the cover. These questions may be included in the final exam for the course. The lead teacher for this course will be present for all student lectures and give immediate feedback to the students on how well they covered the topic assigned to them.
The community psychology part of this course addresses health and community psychology from an applied perspective. The focus will be on intervention planning aimed at changing behaviour and solving problems that may arise in residential areas, towns, organisations, or society in general. Students will work in groups (max 3 students) on intervention planning with respect to a particular case and present their work (obligatory assignment). Discussions will be held on the quality and feasibility of the presented intervention plans and the role of psychologists in these interventions.

Teaching for this course will conducted by the students and the teachers. There will also be group work and class projects.

Four hour essay exam at the end of the course. Graded form A-F. Before you can take the exam the student must lecture and create an intervention during the course as stated above.
