REL-3005: Old Testament Work Load
20 credits (ECTS) | Contents
In this course, the main emphasis is placed on a textual study of the Old Testament in Hebrew. The subject takes its starting-point in a specific selection of texts, in which different literary genres are represented: the historical books, the literature of the prophets and the poetic literature. The Hebraic texts are read from their literary, religious, historical and social contexts, giving students an insight into different representations of selv-perception among the people of ancient Israel. In this course, emphasis is further placed on the history of research and different methodological perspectives. | Form of teaching
