MAT-3200: Continuum Models Work Load 10 credits (ECTS) | Contents This is a course on the mathematical modeling of continuous systems and their wave phenomena. Examples from hydrodynamics, plasma physics, elastic materials and optics will be discussed. The course will cover both analytic and numerical metods and will give an introduction to the numerical solution of partial differential equations with applications to the theory of linear waves. The prerequisires are MAT-2200 Differential equations and MAT-2201 Numerical methods. Some knowledge of physics would also be helpful. | Form of teaching Lectures: 40 h Coursework: 30 h | Assessment 1 oral exam.
