DOK-3023: Project seminar Work Load
10 credits (ECTS) | Objectives
DOK-3023 will prepare the student for the production of a master''s degree project and enable him/her to revise the project while working on it and adjust it according to unexpected circumstances and experiences during data collection and experiments. | Contents
Course type: Compulsory.
Students require a good command of English. Literature and other course material will be in Scandinavian and English.
Bachelor degree in Documentary Science, or equivalent. It is also expected that students will have completed the DOK-3010 Theory Seminar and the DOK-3011 Project Outline Seminar.
The course DOK-3023 consists of the presentation and the development of a master''s degree project in documentation science, with an emphasis on the planning of the different phases of the project, i.e. data collection, experiments, evaluation, presentation, and the discussion of the contribution of the project to knowledge in documentation science and its relationship to other research in the field. | Form of teaching
The seminar consists of three one-day meetings during the spring semester. The seminar is co-organized with DOK-3020.
| Assessment
The students will work on a project plan that will be discussed whilst in progress via the Net and at meetings.
The work assignment will be evaluated as pass/fail.
The examination consists of a written project sketch of up to 5 pages, which will be discussed during the semester through the internet and at the meetings, and which is to be submitted by the deadline. The sketch is to be submitted as hardcopy.
