NOR-2119: Northern Norwegian Literature after 1900 Work Load

The object of the course is to enhance students'' awareness of the problems of theory and method which can arise in connection with regional language research, and to improve knowledge of Northern Norwegian literature as a distinctive part of Norway''s national literature. | Contents
In Northern Norwegian literary history, there are many examples of the tension between the periphery and the centre which seems to be a general feature of European culture as far back as Antiquity. In this course, the main emphasis will be on central Northern Norwegian works from the period after 1900, and we will try to read these texts into a regional Northern Norwegian as well as a national Norwegian context of literary history. | Form of teaching

To be allowed to sit the examination, the student must give at least one oral presentation of approximately 15 minutes. This requirement is assessed with pass/fail. School exam: 6 hours. | Examination semester
