NOR-1110: Nordic literature from Eddaic Poem until 1870 Work Load

The course will provide students with a solid knowledge of Norwegian/Scandinavian literature and literary history up to 1870, and contemporary literary analysis. | Contents
The course will give students a knowledge of Norwegian and Scandinavian literature from Old Norse literature to 1870. The study of literary texts will be closely related to the study of secondary literature in literary history and literary theory. The methods component is not only intended as a tool, but will also enable students to see how an individual textual analysis or other research result is directly related to a particular theoretical method and perhaps also to a value judgement.

Prepared oral presentation lasting c. 15 minutes.
Assessment method:
School exam (6 hours) at the end of the semester.
