SVF-3903: From fieldwork experience to ethnographic film and text Vekting

This subject is obligatory in the study of V.C.S. both as part of the International Master Course and as part of a Specialisation Course open to Master students in Social Science. | Innhold
When returning from fieldwork the students will start to prepare for the editing of their exam film. This involves shotlisting and the writing of a film synopsis and an editing script. This process will be closely connected to the writing of the written theses (subject VCS 307).
Undervisning:
A part of the teaching will be organised in ?Film and text seminars? which will be arranged in common with VCS 307. All the students will get six seminars focusing on their production of film and written theses. Two seminars are given when they arrive back from fieldwork, but before they start the editing of the film, two seminars during the editing period and then two seminars when they are writing their theses. In addition the students will get individual supervision all through the filmmaking process.

En muntlig prøve
In addition to formative evaluations of the exercises conducted along the course there will be a summative evaluation of the film produced.
It will be a screening and an oral presentation of the film for the final exam.
