STV-1006: Arctic Norway - Aspects of Politics, Government and International Relations Vekting

The objective of the course is to provide students with an understanding of the political system and processes relevant to the Arctic. The political institutions related to the management of natural resources and the environment in the area, will be emphasized. | Innhold
The course starts with an introduction to the Norwegian political system and its institutions.
An important aspect of northern Norway is the management and protection of the rich natural resources that characterize the region. Drawing on this, the course focus on how institutions manage and conserve the natural resources, and the environment according to international agreements, and how co-operation between countries on management in the region is developed. The empirical matter at hand here will be informed by theoretical perspectives from International Relationstheory. | Undervisning
