GEO-3127: 3-D Seismic Interpretation Work Load 5 credits (ECTS) | Contents The course focuses on the geological evaluation of 3D seismic data. Emphasis is placed on qualitative interpretation techniques for evaluating structural and sedimentological (stratigraphic) processes. Quantitative interpretation techniques for reservoir and hydrocarbon (HC) prediction (inversion, porosity and HC modelling) will be treated only briefly. Course participants will obtain practical and theoretical knowledge of the most up-to-date 3D interpretation techniques. This will enable them to carry out an independent analysis of 3D data using GeoFrame visualisation and mapping modules, and to describe and present structural and sedimentological models. Basic knowledge of sedimentology, structural geology and geophysics is assumed.
