ANK-1210: Classical Culture Work Load

Spring | Objectives
This course will provide the students with the necessary background knowledge to understand Greek and Roman literature in its cultural context. | Contents
An introduction to different aspects of Greco-Roman society, themes from Greek and Roman religion, culture, philosophy and history will be taken up.
Required previous qualifications/courses: General academic competence.
Recommended previous qualifications/ courses:
None, but a good knowledge of English is an advantage, since part of the course syllabus will be in English. | Form of teaching
Teaching consists of 52 hours of lectures/seminars with weeks for individual study and seminars where the students present projects. | Coursework requirements
At least 5 short oral presentations (5 minutes).
| Exam and assessment
The students are to give at least 5 short oral presentations (5 minutes) on the material in the course of the semester.
The examination consists of portfolio evaluation.
- Two of the short coursework requirement presentations are to be submitted in a written document of 5-10 pages at the end of the semester.
- A 4-hour school exam at the end of the semester.
Performance will be assessed with the grades A-F. | Date(s) of written examination
