The subject is an optional speciality in the Master''s Degree course in Sociology. | Contents
The aim o this course is to give the students a sociological insight into the role of medicine in society. The course will examine the relationship between health, illness and society, and demonstrate the connections between these. It will particularly look at the role of modern medicine. | Form of teaching
Lectures. | Exam and assessment
Essay (10 pages) on a topic given by the member of staff in charge. Writing time 2 weeks. Letter grading A-F.
Grading: A-E=pass, F=fail.
